Strawberry Fields Festival: Forever Waste Free

We're immensely proud and grateful for everyone who contributed to the success of Strawberry Fields Festival this year. Drawing in over 15,000 patrons across three days in the picturesque Tocumwal region, we operated the Rewash Revolution, turning out over 50,000 dishes, and diverting single-use items from ending up in landfills. Additionally, our Leave No Trace Campground Education team received overwhelming engagement, providing campers with essential resources and knowledge on proper compost, recycling, and landfill disposal practices.

Lost Paradise New Year's Impact Report

B-Alternative participated at the Lost Paradise Festival over New Year’s alongside the Clean Vibes and Lost Paradise Green Team. All efforts resulted in these statistics:

  • Out of 119 tonnes of waste, 69% (59.65 tonnes) was diverted from landfill, with only 31% (36.76 tonnes) sent to landfill.

  • We saved 8,920Kgs of organics from landfill, equivalent to 100 hours flying a Boeing 747.

  • We rewarded 10 campers for their sustainability efforts with tickets to next year’s event!

Our Surival Day: Keep Surviving

Our Survival Day was held on January 26th at The Briars in Mount Martha on the traditional lands of the Bunurong people. To show our support for the event and the community, we donated our services in kind to care for Country. With 2,000 visitors, our team diverted 1,382 single-use items from landfill and only two general waste bins were collected from the entire day!

One Planet Festival

Join us at the One Planet Festival on March 16, 2024, at Torquay Elephant Walk, hosted by Parents 4 Climate and Surfers for Climate. B-Alternative proudly supports this family-friendly event on Wadawurrung Country.

As part of our environmental commitment, we'll provide reusable crockery to minimize waste, aligning with the festival's goal of promoting sustainability. Enjoy kids' activities, food trucks, and live entertainment centred around "Empowering Communities, Protecting Earth".

See you there from 11am-5pm!

Off Grid Living Festival

For the 6th year running, the Off Grid Living Festival is back in Chiltern, VIC, on the lands of the Yorta Yorta people April 6-7, 2024 and is going to zero waste!

B-Alternative will be managing the resource recovery and reusables to line up with the values of respecting the land and producing minimal waste (the crux of off-grid living!).

Day passes are $33, weekend passes are $55. Kids under 14 are free.
